This is the best eye doctor I’ve ever been to! He makes getting your eyes checked really fun and he is also very gentle and cautious with my children. Made a point of telling me that many doctors repeat the puff ? of air test several times because it’s difficult to do correctly and he spends more time getting everything lined up so that he doesn’t have to repeat it twice. My daughter got glasses from him two years ago that she basically never wore because she doesn’t like how she looks in glasses but didn’t want to pay the additional contact lens exam fee. My insurance only covers a glasses exam so he just went ahead and did her contact lens exam fee for free and gave her set of contacts for a month to try out. His wife (the receptionist) went out of her way to check into our secondary insurance because I didn’t know that I could use both of them at the same time and that made it for us to get her contacts paid for. I got my eyes checked recently and didn’t even know that I needed to have a prescription but he got me set up with a good prescription and I can see so much better now I didn’t even realize how fuzzy everything has been getting. I would never go to a different eye doctor ever and I would highly recommend Dr. Martin-Ellis.

Long post but these are the cliff notes: Horribly incorrect prescriptions. Horrible office manager. Horrible staff. Horrible waste of time. Just horrible. Do not waste your time coming here!!!
I needed my eyes checked after a medical emergency and after doing so I was provided a new glasses prescription. I was ultimately told my vision changed due to the medical situation so I wasn’t super concerned at that point. However, when I got my new glasses my prescription was drastically incorrect. I called to let them know and they scheduled me a follow up appointment the following day. I received a new prescription that was significantly different from the first one I was originally provided. I ordered yet another pair of glasses and surprise, surprise that prescription was also incorrect. Obviously the prescription mistakes are costing me money. I called to make another appointment (would have been my 3rd) and attempted to explain my concerns about the incorrect prescriptions and the staff member was disgustingly rude. I asked for her name and she refused and stated, “I’m the only one here, soooo” such a juvenile and unprofessional woman. After asking to make an appointment again, she abruptly hung up on me. I went to the office in person and requested to speak with whomever took my call and naturally everyone claimed it wasn’t them. Of course rude people on the phone like to hide behind anonymity. Then who I assume was the office manager or supervisor came from the back and asked to see what number I called from and I stated that I know I called the correct number ( it was saved in my phone since the first visit) her responses insinuated that I called the wrong number which I double checked and it was, IN FACT, their office that I called. It’s like she literally wanted me to show her my phone in order for her to take my concerns seriously? I made it clear that I just wanted to make an appointment but she was persistent in asking what number I called from so she could “rectify the situation” though I already made it clear that it was their office I called. She had the audacity to make the same statement repeatedly as if I had an issue with basic comprehension skills. The office manager was more worried about attempting to prove me wrong than addressing the unprofessionalism of the staff. She didn’t even bother to apologize for the inconvenience of having to drive up there just to make an appointment because of the rude employee refused to do so over the phone. The interaction with the office manager was the last straw for me. I’d much rather take a trip to Austin for a better provider than to return here.

Mom has glaucoma. Worst pressure she's ever had. Dr Ellis gave her the incorrect eye glasses prescription and she had to practically beg him to give her a prescription for her glaucoma (if left untreated causes blindness). I went here as well around the same time complaining of white-blindness and to update my eyeglass prescription. He did a test to which he said I was "fine" and I should cut back on the caffeine. Also received the incorrect eye glass prescription which I had to beg for. I was told my prescription hasn't changed much. I asked for my eye glass prescription nonetheless to which I was met with a eye roll and scoff from the staff. Both my mother and I filled our eye glasses prescription only to realize we couldn't see and our prescription was similar to a prescription from 5+years previously filled. If I could give no stars I would. This place is filled with a disrespectful doctor and staff as is it a waste of time and money. If you can, go somewhere else.

We had an appointment and waited almost 2 hours after our appointment time to be seen! Do not make any appointments the same day you schedule here because you won’t make it to your other appointments! I do not recommend being seen here unless this is the only provider your insurance covers!
