Convelio, acting as the shipper for its client, the auction house Artcurial (who strongly recommended Convelio), damaged a Chinese antiquity I purchased during shipment from Paris to New York. Both Convelio and Artcurial refused to arrange a third-party appraisal of the damage and did not provide references for the suggested restorer, falling short of best practices and the professionalism expected when damage occurs. The proper course of action should have been: artwork damaged in shipment, followed by full reimbursement after assessing repair costs and any loss in value, if together they exceed the purchase price. BE WARNED If your artwork is damaged, neither Convelio nor Artcurial will make a reasonable effort to resolve the issue to the client's satisfaction.

STAY AWAY. I could not provide a worse review for this company. They packed valuable furniture being shipped from the UK to the United States in a cardboard crate, without proper insulation inside. The package was dropped off at the middle of the base of my driveway, blocking access to and from my home for several days. The furniture was cracked and chipped, and they have not offered compensation for the damage even though they acknowledged it was a result of their mishandling. I thought this was a reputable company but it appears that is wrong. Be careful.

I am very delighted I worked with Convelio on the installation and deinstallation of my work at Salon this past November.The correspondence was concise and clear which cut down on emails and made receiving a complete quote quick and simple. I was very impressed by the sub-contracted installers on-site and their willingness to work as needed at the end of what must have been a very long day. I appreciated the Convelio on-site team informing me of timing changes and also checking in periodically on my needs. The deinstallation was even simpler. Once I had dis-assembled the various designs and protected delicate finishes the Convelio representative assured me they could proceed without my direct on site assistance which allowed me to leave much earlier than I expected on the final evening of the show. In all it was a smooth and enjoyable experience working with Convelio and I would certainly do so again.

I thought that Convelio did a great job delivering my package from Paris. I received numerous updates on its progress and the website was also very helpful. I especially appreciated how Convelio contacted me about my Social Security number that was necessary for the US Customs. In the past with other delivery companies, I had to contact them myself and that resulted in a delay of the shipment.

I recently bought a very fragile vase at Christie’s auction house in Paris. I need it shipped to my home in the United States. Christie’s was able to give me two quotes for shipping, both of which were absolutely outrageous. I went to the Convelio website and used their shipping calculator to estimate the cost. That estimate was a fraction of what Christie’s wanted to charge me. While I was considering my options, I received an email from Theo Soviche a representative from Convelio. I decided to go with his company. My vase was picked up in Paris, crated and packaged, then shipped to my home. The vase was very fragile and quite expensive so I was anxious. Theo’s service made me feel like I have my own concierge shipper. He very promptly replied to each question and concerned that I had every step along the way. I would give him and his company my highest recommendation and I’m looking forward to use their services again in the future.

Would never use again and it is my opinion these people do not know what they are doing. Stay away from this startup whose website seems to focus more on VC funding than Art Transport.

Shipping was fast, items were exceptionally well-packed, and everything arrived in perfect condition. There were some tricky timing issues with the item pick-up, and Convelio managed these beautifully. It's no secret that shipping is astronomically expensive these days. Convelio's quotes are consistently competitive.
