Our Cr1 case was stuck in the US embassy more then a year after interview.
I filed the mandamus lawsuit with joshua and his team early of January 2024 after 60 days we got motion of dismiss, but the team fought back like hell, and luckily they won and the judge Denied there motion to dismiss of the embassy , the judge ruled that the embassy must bring to the court the administrative record of the case by the 21st October. luckily on 18 October the embassy emailed us that the administrative process is completed and our visa has been issued.

I hired Goldstein Immigration Lawyers to handle a visa delay issue. First and foremost, Josh's team is very supportive and responsive. That said, this is a service I paid for, and I feel it's only fair to critique where they fell short of my expectations. I paid a significant amount—well above the average cost for a mandamus lawsuit—but I was willing to do so because I trusted their experience and expertise.

Unfortunately, after two months of waiting since the government was served, the government’s lawyer filed a motion to dismiss. Today, as I had anticipated, the judge granted the motion. While I recognize the unpredictability of these cases, it’s disappointing that, despite their high fees, the outcome was not in my favor.

I just wish they—or any immigration lawyer—would be more honest about the reality of this type of lawsuit. It usually doesn’t work unless the embassy or USCIS decides to act on their own accord. If they don’t, you’ll end up stuck in the full legal process with no real progress. Additionally, they shouldn’t give false hope when the defendant’s lawyer files a motion to dismiss, because from my experience and conversations with others, that typically means the judge will grant the motion in most cases.

By the time I found Joshua Goldstein, my heart and life felt truly broken. Our immigration journey had been long and I had focused every bit of energy I had on maintaining our long distance marriage with an 11.5 hour time delay and talking to everyone I could about our situation in a desperate attempt to reunite with the love of my life and be a family again. I wrote to President Biden, Vice President Harris, and the First Lady and the Second Gentleman or (whatever is his actual title.) I wrote to my state and local representatives. I wrote to reporters and I spoke with lawyers and I went with my daughter all the way to their offices in DC and spoke with their staff. I wrote the Ombudsman. The longer that we were apart the more hopeless both we and the politics between our countries seemed to grow and it seemed like every fear I had came true, for a while. As more and more time passed, I began to feel like I was married to a ghost and the way people spoke to me was like he was already lost and I was living for a dream that would never come true. Everyone knew how much we loved each other, but no one wanted to see either of us suffer like this. I know my husband and he is the purest man I have ever met and I am old enough to know that I would wait 20 years for him if I had to- but it is torture to live apart and when living this way, trapped in waiting mode, people like us can’t function normally. We had no options though, because our three trips to spend time together had used everything we could raise and more. We had suffered for over three years since I applied to sponsor my husband for an immigrant visa to the US, and after his interview in Abu Dhabi, we got put in Administrative Processing. I went there thinking that my husband would be coming home with me, and I left not knowing if I would ever see him again. The emotional pain was intense and I couldn’t seem to convince anyone that I was “okay” when I got back. I stayed in bed and struggled to find hope to keep going. The political situation became a war, and his situation became more tenuous as did my own. I truly did not know if I would ever see my husband again. I would never forgive myself if I gave up though, and I knew I would never be happy without him. I tried to find a job in many other countries but I have children in the US and I’m a US Citizen so to have to move to Iran seemed very dangerous and unfair to my entire family, and no one was hiring me anywhere else because I was clearly depressed and living in a very uncertain situation, not knowing if my husband would ever be able to leave Iran to join me. The only sensible option was for my husband to join me in the US. It felt impossible. Then one day I saw Joshua Goldstein on Tik Tok and I had scheduled meetings with other lawyers from there before, so I thought why not. I searched for him on Google, because I was afraid to click on an imposter’s ad, and scheduled a free consultation. Answering the questions was difficult and I became very upset, but the team was very comforting and understanding. Eventually, Joshua Goldstein’s team and I came to an agreement and although I have felt like an emotional and incoherent mess the whole time, his team has been there for the me and they never drew attention to my distress or made me feel embarrassed about it, they were understanding and compassionate.
To be honest, I feel like they are angels in my life and I have so much respect for the work that they do that I am considering going back to school to learn to help do this kind of work in some capacity.
After Josh and his team swooped into my life like superhero’s things started to get a lot better. They gave us just enough hope to keep our faith and love going. They filed the mandamus lawsuit on our behalf in February and now, in April, we have been informed that my husband’s immigration visa has been issued and we should be together in the USA before my Birthday in May! am in shock!
