My fiance and I brought our son in to Dr. Atluru for a developmental evaluation for ASD. All I can say is that she is phenomenal. She is one of those doctors that is straightforward and direct, which I love and appreciate. She does this in a respectful manner and sprinkles some of her dry humor along the way. She was so friendly with our son, and made us feel so confident as parents. It was a difficult appointment as my son was diagnosed with ASD this day. But overall, Dr. Atluru was so kind, compassionate, and even consoled my fiance, putting her hand on his shoulder and providing him a tissue once she told us his diagnosis. She gave us both tasks to be responsible for, making us feel like a team and tackling our son’s treatment together. She gave us all of the referrals we needed, guiding us in the direction we needed to go in, and was so open to questions along the way. Nothing was rushed, she was very thorough. I appreciated the old-school charm of the way that she practices- it reminded me of my own pediatrician as a kid. If you don’t want someone direct and blunt, she may not be the best fit for your family but those are the physicians I look for. She gives everything to you straight, answers all questions before you could even ask them, and is so gentle and compassionate. Despite the news we were told, I was confident in the guidance she gave us moving forward. I look forward to our son’s follow up with her in 6 months

Dr. Atluru is an excellent and knowledgable doctor, she guided us when we needed it the most. She even engaged my child and asked them age appropriate simple General Knowledge questions and shared jokes which made the engagement pleasant. Now when we go there my child actually likes to brush up on some simple questions so he is prepared.

Dr. Atluru is a terrible physician. Worst bedside manner and overall attitude. Her examination left me in pain and honestly I felt a bit violated. She made some inappropriate comments about my body. I felt very uncomfortable.

Literally the biggest waste of my time. Refused to treat my son, calling him a "psychiatric case" because he's on a couple of medications to control his outbursts. Ummm... hello? ASD kids quite often need these medications. If you're not comfortable treating kids with Autism, then don't list it as your "specialty." Clearly it isn't, and clearly she just didn't want to deal with my son. Also, she was very rude.

My daughter has ADD and in the past had ADHD withODD. She is older now and she gave her a 504 paperwork on her letterhead for school this year . My daughter's 504 coordinater tells me I need the medical diagnosis code and the nurse practioner opens paperwork not meant for her and gets involved in the situation say my daughter does not have ADD anymore. I don't know about anyone else but its in your brain and it never goes away its there for life. It's wrong and I need and to speak to MD.

I’ve had a great experience with Dr Vijaya Atluru ,I’ve been taking my daughter for many years I think she’s very good at what she does. She very intuitive with children and has a better bed side manner then other neurologists we’ve been to.
