The service was excellent, and the restaurant was very accommodating of my girlfriend’s vegan dietary needs, which we really appreciated. The first three courses were fantastic, with some dishes being finished or prepared right at the table, adding an interactive and enjoyable touch. However, the remaining courses were unfortunately underwhelming. While there are many things the restaurant does well—especially the attentive service and creativity in the opening courses—for a 3 Michelin star restaurant, we had hoped for a higher level of consistency throughout the entire meal.

Incredible. For my latest stay in Japan, I wanted to choose one 3 Michelin star fine-dining restaurant. With so many brilliant restaurants to choose from, I am happy to report it was the right choice.

The food and wine were fantastic. All ingredients are locally sourced and the menu revolves around what’s seasonally available. Favorite dishes include the grouper, duck breast, and the scallop. There was a duck ravioli that had a “refill.” That was new to me! They first served us with two ravioli and after we finished, they asked how many more we wanted (limit of 3 more).

Fine dining is more than just good food, but a good experience. We want to be wowed, and I always hope to have at least one innovative dish that surprises me and is memorable. I’ll admit that I didn’t have a dish that did that for me, it was really just great cooking. I’ve only dined at two other 3 Michelin star restaurants: 11 Madison Park (pre-vegetarian) and Le Calandre, which had dishes that had that had a “wow, that’s new and memorable” factor. L’Effervescence didn’t have a dish like that for me but had innovative elements like the tofu “sour cream” that was delicious and fun to dip into throughout the different courses.

Beyond the food, the ambiance and service were excellent. Tableware, glassware, and flatware, are so stunning. I love how attentive the staff were. They will never let you fully finish a glass of water without topping it off. There were some theatric moments throughout the night like the tea ceremony, the mixing of the welcome cocktail, and assembly of the scallop dish. All very fun and significantly added to the entire experience. We were also sent home with several goodies.

Overall, I created unforgettable memories with my loved ones and am so impressed with L’Effervescence. ありがとう ございます!

I’m only enjoying this place because of the service and the staffs. Everybody was super nice and polite from the start. They treat you like queens and kings. They pull your chair for you, lead you to the bathroom, always greeting you and always professional. The tea ceremony at the end was also a nice touch. However, the food here is not my cup of tea. Only one main course (duck breast) and the portion was literally for a 3 years old. The rest of the courses were vegetarian. We had 3 people, we left the place still super hungry after the amount of money we paid. Honestly it’s a nice experience to feel fancy, but the food is definitely not worth it.

My wife visited Japan for our 20th wedding anniversary and we decided to try some of the Michelin star resturants while here. L'Effervescence was our first experience of Japanese Michelin star restaurants and it was absolutely amazing. We got the half wine pairing which included a lot of sake and some that we absolutely fell in love with. The service was top notch and the food was very delicious. I think our favorite was the amount of vegetables that were served which felt refreshing - we especially enjoyed where they show you the 55 vegetables they sourced locally from across Japan and the farmers names that they then make into a salad. There really isn't anything bad to say about this place. Our host even came outside after with us and waited with us until our taxi arrived. From start to finish it was an amazing experience that I would highly recommend.

Perfect high high-end japanese restaurant with a surprisingly less strict atmosphere, for example, american country songs.

Dishes are diversified, fresh, and tasteful. For some reason, their special dish from Turnip was, for me, less impressive, but the rest was outstanding.

Loved it, highly recommended.

Everything and everyone here met the standards of a three star Michelin restaurant. The service was impeccable with all the staff being friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The food was incredible with the duck being the best I have ever had. A must visit.

はじまりはここから
My best of the best restaurant

Service was great! Food was good, although we didn’t think there were as many standout dishes that we were expecting (the salad/duck was overhyped but the potato focaccia was fantastic). The gifts at the end were a nice touch. Atmosphere was rather clinical.
