DARE I SAY - best breakfast tacos in Austin?

Let me tell you about my time at Marigold Market, the PERFECT definition of hole-in-the-wall Austin, worth every single penny, great staff, random gem.

It all started with my not so great experience trying to get taco deli tacos from black rock coffee next door. I walked over to Marigold and was met with the kindest boys, they gave us extra salsa and made our tacos with care. The tacos tasted so fresh and flavorful, they were huge!!

I think I got the cowboy taco and sausage/egg/cheese. Salsa verde is a must. You’ll see a theme throughout my reviews, I try to give local businesses their credit when it’s needed and this place is so beyond deserving. They have a customer for life over here 🙂

Over all, great value. I would have give it a 5 star if the scrambled eggs would have been more presentable. I ordered the burrito, it was fantastic. The breakfast plat was good but the eggs were a little brown, not sure it the griddle was not cleaned prior to my order or if they over cooked them. They tasted fine, but my 5 year old would not taste them because of the brown crust.

Nice place to have freshly prepared food! I ordered Chicken Tako and Coffee. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The grocery store is so cute with lot of essential food products for daily use ..

I have no issue with the market. I am very disappointed in the downhill quality of food at this cafe. Since changing cafe owners the food portions have continuously gotten smaller (see photo). The promoted “Impossible burger” on their menu is not of the same Impossible patty brand, but of a Beyond patty and the difference in taste is noticeable immediately. The patty size in comparison to the bun is unacceptable for the price and time it takes to receive your order.

This place is AMAZING. Staff is super friendly and helpful, food is great portion for the price! Owner is very involved and open to suggestions. If anyone posts a 1 star review here they have some personal issues going on.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I loved the veggie Dagwood sandwich. There were also vegan options (but I didn't try those). The market is so cute with lots of specialty items that are reasonably priced. The bathrooms are clean and the parking was also very easy. Can't wait to come back soon!

May 2023 update: The updated menu is great! We tried the avocado toast with egg and the tacos and both were great! The toast was perfect and egg perfectly cooked. Still a gem!

This little market is so nice! It is very clean, very bright and cheery. The selection is excellent, and includes a few gluten-free and vegan products! I've never tried their cooking, but it smells good. The staff is fantastic... they once reopened the doors for me after closing because they recognized me! I live right around the corner, and I am so glad this shop is here!
